The Linden Fund is an umbrella organization that mobilizes the overseas diaspora and residents of the Linden community in the economic and social redevelopment of the town of Linden, Guyana. Its mission is to help play a meaningful role in the rebirth of a sustainable Linden, with particular focus on education, health and diversification of the town’s economic base. The Linden Community includes the current and diaspora residents and friends of the town of Linden, Guyana.
 
Currently, three entities comprise the Linden Fund: Linden Fund USA; Linden Fund Canada; and Linden Fund Guyana. These groups share the common goal of Linden redevelopment but each group will have an independent role in complying with their respective country’s charitable and other requirements.

Linden Care Foundation lauded for invaluable contribution to HIV/AIDS fight
The Linden Care Foundation (LCF), a non-governmental organization established seven years ago in Linden to assist in counseling and educating persons afflicted with HIV/ AIDS, on Friday, January 25, last, hosted its annual awards dinner at the Watooka Club in Linden. Among the distinguished guests was US Ambassador David Robinson, who echoed the sentiments of Region Ten’s Chairman Mortimer Mingo and Interim Management Committee Chairman, Orin Gordon in his endorsement of the invaluable work being done by LCF.

Breakfast Social draws large turnout in NY
Close to 350 Lindenites turned out for the Linden Fund’s 2nd annual Breakfast Social held at the Woodbine Social Club, Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, January 26, 2008.  The popular gathering place for Guyanese was awash in Valentine’s theme décor and was a hive of activity as folks mingled and enjoyed a host of delicious dishes and socialized throughout the morning and into the early afternoon hours.There was an air of great nostalgia, camaraderie and friendship that echoed the words of Compton “chata” London who is often heard to remark, ‘Linden people love ...

Linden fund honours its first UG batch
Four students who were granted scholarships by a US-based Linden group recently graduated from the University of Guyana, and were honoured for successfully completing their degree programmes. The four students who were part of a group of eight students who were awarded scholarships, that have completed their four-year degree programmes are Ms. Leuanna Sparman who majored in Biology, Ms. Angela Nichola Abrams in Education and Humanities, Sueanna Lyle in Public Management and Colleen Sparman in Social Studies.Linden Fund USA sponsored the scholarships in an effort to help equip and prepare youths in Linden for the world of work....

Congratulations to Dr. Vincent Adams!
Lindener and Chairman of the Linden Fund USA  Dr. Vincent Adams was recently sworn in as U.S. Federal Government Senior Executive Service Official Lindener and former Christianburg resident Dr. Vincent Adams was recently sworn in as a Senior Executive Service (SES) official of the United States Federal Government, a corps comprised of the highest level of career professionals in the US Federal Government. The SES Corps of professionals run the day to day operations of the Government and form the bridge between the Governments workforce and the political appointees, who come and go with changes in the Administration.

Family Day in the Park in New Jersey
The 8th Annual Family Day event of the New Jersey Chapter of the Linden Fund was a great success on Sunday, July 15th at Cedar Brook Park in Plainfield, NJ.   Several hundred Lindeners came from near and far, including Chairman of the LFU Vincent Adams who lives in Tennessee; they made their way to this annual gathering of good fun, food, music and general ‘LIME”.  Mostly clear, sunny skies lent a festive air, as tents dotted the Mathewson Picnic Area of the park, which has seen 7 other successful Family Day events in New Jersey.  ...
