Amb Samuel AA Hinds_.jpg

We’re delighted to welcome Guyana’s Ambassador to the U.S., His Excellency Samuel A.A. Hinds, O.E., as our Special Guest Speaker at our Gala.

He has served as Guyana’s Ambassador to the United States since July 2021 and as Permanent Representative to the OAS from August 2021. Amb. Hinds served as Guyana’s Prime Minister from 1992-2015 and as interim President of Guyana in 1997. In the decades before entering Guyana’s political realm, the massive Guyana bauxite industry molded Sam Hinds as a technical and scientific leader and, in turn, he gave direction and energy to the socioeconomic fulfillment of the Linden/Mackenzie community and the industry, as Guybau Div. Superintendent for Product Quality and R&D. During the 2016 centennial anniversary of Guyana’s bauxite industry, Amb. Hinds served as a member of the Bauxite Centennial Planning Committee and contributed an article to the Bauxite Centennial Magazine regarding the transition to nationalized operations.
