Full House at our 2025 Bunch Social in Brooklyn

There was a great vibe and an awesome crowd at the April 12 Linden Fund USA Brunch Social held at Nazareth Hall in Brooklyn. What tremendous support from our amazing members, past board members, friends, and our partner GUYDA. With words of inspiration from Rev. Dr. Jewell Willabus-Bellamy, great music from DJ Flexx, and folk songs from Wrickford Dalgetty and band, it was a wonderful afternoon. Our Brunch Committee did an outstanding job! See you next year. Region 10 Spelling Bee Hosted During Annual Linden Town Week

Linden Town Week is the annual celebration at the end of April that recognizes the establishment of the town of Linden in 1970. Originally Linden Town Day, LFU played an important role with the Kashif and Shanghai organization in the Back-to-Linden Drive for the expanded Town Week, growing and funding significant Town Week activities in the early years. Our annual Region 10 Spelling Bee Competition with Ansa McAL, features three students from each of the nine primary schools in the community in friendly competition on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at LICHAS. Over the years, several top finishers have gone on to achieve notable academic success at the secondary level. Click the link to see the schedule of events for Town Week 2025.
Ronald Lammy Recognized with Unsung Hero Award

The Unsung Hero Award honors individuals whose quiet yet impactful contributions uplift the community. This year, our own Ronald Lammy of the Elder HealthCare Disparities Coalition, Inc., was honored for his dedicated, behind-the-scenes service addressing healthcare disparities and improving the lives of older adults in the state of Massachusetts. As an integral part of LFU’s Senior Citizens Project—including the 2024 senior survey—Ronald replicates these practices as it relates to seniors in Linden, Guyana. Let’s congratulate Ronald on being honored at the Rev. Dr. MLK Jr. 40th Annual Community Appreciation Awards Banquet, themed “A Vision of Unity and Progress: Lives That Speak Louder Than Words.” His leadership exemplifies the spirit of this event, which reflects LFU’s mission to support seniors. #eldercare
