ree

Congratulations to Madanna Alstine, the inaugural recipient of the Vincent Egerton Britton Memorial Scholarship awarded this month in memory of a beloved father and youth mentor. Madanna was chosen as the outstanding scholarship applicant by the Britton-Greene family and had the wonderful experience of connecting with the donor family in-person in Georgetown, Guyana, this month. Best of luck to Madanna in her journey towards a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Guyana. #DonorSupport  #FamilyLegacy

Helping Bring Holiday Cheer to Our Seniors

ree

In one of many holiday celebrations for senior citizens in Region 10, the Daisies Health and Wellness Elderly Club hosted a beautiful Christmas Party and Thanksgiving Service for seniors on December 3 at Trench Bridge, Wismar. It was a heartwarming celebration filled with fellowship, music, and gratitude. Each senior received a rechargeable solar lamp, made possible in part by a generous GY $200,000 donation from LFU Guyana Inc. We are honored to support initiatives that bring comfort, light, and joy to our elders—during the holiday season and throughout the year.  Click to see event photos. LFU Guyana Inc. celebrates Dr. Salome Henry and her team of dedicated volunteers for their tremendous unwavering commitment to strengthening social engagement opportunities for seniors in our community. Supporting Local Swimmers in Regional Competition

ree

We were proud to support the Torpedo Swim Club with a GY$100,000 donation to participate in the ASATT Marlins Invitational, which was held from Dec 11-14 in Trinidad and Tobago. LFU was among the supporters of the young team, which turned in a number of personal bests (PB) at the meet. According to coach and mentor, Mary Chung, it was the boys' second international competition and the girls’ first. Akeisha Pulmeyere (11-12 girls) bettered her times in the 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, and 100m freestyle and created new PBs in those events. Andella France (15 and over) created a PB in the 50m freestyle but not in the 100m freestyle. Gabrielle Denny (8 and under) created a PB in the 50m freestyle, shaving off a full 3 seconds and clocking in at 45.64secs. Jaden Mercurius and Zidan John both turned in PBs in the 50m breast stroke and 50m butterfly respectively. Congratulations to this young team! #Region10Youths #NurturingYoungTalent

Grateful For Your Donor Support

ree

Loyal and committed annual donations are vital to LFU’s continued success. Consistent giving provides the stability needed to plan ahead, sustain core programs, and respond quickly to community needs without interruption. It allows LFU to focus more on delivering impact—supporting youth, seniors, and community initiatives—and less on emergency fundraising. Equally important, annual donors are true partners in our mission. Their ongoing support demonstrates confidence in LFU’s vision and leadership, strengthens our credibility with grantors and partners, and helps ensure that our work creates lasting, meaningful change in the communities we serve.
