In response to senior residents, who during Linden Town Week polls and forums expressed the need for more opportunities for meaningful, productive and engaging interactions with people in their age group, LFU Guyana Inc., in collaboration with Ladies on a Mission (L.O.A.M.), hosted the first “Senior Lime” event on the lawns of the LFU Office on Washer Pond Road. Held on July 31, this first event of many to come, was themed “Emancipation,” in honor of the national holiday celebrated each year on August 1. Two LFU scholars, Akeam Williams (UG) and Syesha Fraser (SfS) made a presentation on “Emancipation” to the seniors, who enjoyed the fellowship and social time together. “Senior Lime” events will be repeated several times a year to engage Linden’s elderly residents. View pictures on Facebook.

LFU Guyana Inc. was pleased to support the 2nd annual Sip & Paint - Kids Edition hosted by S&S Luxury For Less Craft Designs. CEO Falina Obermuller, who is also an LFU volunteer, has shown such entrepreneurship in launching this event in which children, ages 5 to 12, will showcase their talents through painting, games and more on August 24. We applaud Falina and hope the kids enjoy the donated toys, compliments of LFU Guyana Inc.
