Emphasis on FUN at the Family Fun Day in New Jersey
We had perfect weather at Cedar Brook Park in Plainfield, NJ, for Linden friends and family to come together on July 20 to enjoy the camaraderie and simple summer pleasure of being outdoors! We had dominoes, thanks to Brusche’s Basketball Foundation. We had kids games and giveaways, compliments of Bryan Ralston. Our vendors were a big hit, from a refreshing lemonade stand by two young entrepreneurs to two booths featuring delightful GT apparel and a wide range of GT novelty items. Big thanks to the committee for pulling off another successful annual Family Fun Day, which is one of LFU’s longest-standing and cherished traditions!

NGSA Top Performers Honored in Region 10
The top NGSA performers in Region 10 were hosted in a unique celebration, “Bursary Award and All Expenses Paid Day Tour,” jointly hosted since 2021 by LFU Guyana Inc. and Elite Kayaking and Nature Tours. This year, the partners were especially proud to highlight that the top 3 performers in the 2025 NGSA were also the top 3 winners as Grade 5 students at the 2024 ANSA McAL-sponsored Spelling Bee competition hosted each year by LFU. The event attracted multiple media coverage, including this video here. Congrats to all the students as they embark on their secondary school journeys!

Growing Futures: Youth Cultivate Skills at the Seedling House Program
For five weeks in July and August, LFU Guyana Inc. will host the second annual Seedling House Summer Volunteer Program, again led by project manager Shanea Holder (kneeling in the center photo). Twelve students, aged 11 to 17, will be getting their hands dirty—literally—as they learn about plant care, soil science, and sustainable agriculture. With activities, both fun and educational, these young changemakers will not only grow seedlings—they will develop skills, friendships, and a deeper connection to their community and local food security efforts. Three of the participants are repeat participants - future program leaders!
