“Senior Lime” Brings Together Linden Elderly for Fun and Learning
On June 12, the LFU Office in Mackenzie was alive to the sounds of music and laughter and engagement among dozens of our elderly who were participating in our ongoing series of Senior Limes, just for them! In partnership with the Ladies On A Mission (L.O.A.M), the event focused on an engaging interactive session on mental health even as the social aspect of the event was achieved. We celebrated a few special birthdays and, of course, there was cake!! Our gratitude to all who made the event a success and special thanks to NCN TV for covering the event. View some pictures of the event. Watch for the 3rd quarter 2025 Senior Lime in September! #mentalhealth #wellbeing

Thank you to the McCammon family for entrusting the stewardship of this scholarship to us, with plans for expansion to other scholarships to other institutions. Fun with a purpose! 2025 Seedling House Volunteer Program
The Seedling House Summer Volunteer Program, led by LFU Guyana Inc., is proving to be a transformative and enriching experience for young participants aged 11 to 17. During the five week program, student volunteers will engage in hands-on agricultural activities, develop essential skills in plant care, soil management, and teamwork. The program fosters a strong sense of community and purpose, with volunteers - new and a few 2024 returning participants - playing an active role in advancing local food security. The upcoming 2025 Seedling House Program builds on this foundation as a youth-led initiative involving high school students in the cultivation and distribution of high-quality, affordable seedlings throughout Region 10. The project coordinator, Shanea Holder, has outlined engaging activities for the participants. The 20’ X 10’ seedling house was constructed on LFU grounds with a grant from the Small Grant Programme (SGP) during the 2023 Agriculture Internship program.
