Celebrating the Successful Academic Journey of Dr. Brandy Esbrand

Congratulations to LFU scholar and newly-minted Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Brandy Esbrand, the inaugural holder of the Dr. Walter Kyte Memorial Foundation Scholarship facilitated by LFU Guyana Inc. Brandy was the first to be awarded this memorial scholarship in 2019 that was facilitated by LFU. Fresh off of graduating Mackenzie High School, she entered the challenging Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program and graduated with Credit on November 8 at the University of Guyana. “Thank you again for helping me to accomplish my dreams of becoming a medical doctor," she wrote to Mrs. Jennifer Kyte and the Walter A. Bursaries Awarded by LFU Members for NGSA and CXC Support

We’re thankful for our generous donors, spearheaded by LFU member Allan Monrose, Kevin Monrose (alma mater Mackenzie Primary), Phillip Archer (alma mater St. Aidan’s Primary), Andy Lee and Michael Chase, who came together to fund bursaries of $20,000 GY each to 10 students preparing for 2024 CXC and NGSA exams. The CXC students were selected from New Silver City Secondary and Mackenzie High School. Allan began this annual give-back in 2023 in thanksgiving to one of his teachers at his alma mater, Mackenzie High School, who had made a big difference in his life. This year he encouraged his family and close friends to bless at least 10 students navigating their academic journeys! Kudos for their initiative and generosity.
