Final 2025 “Senior Lime” Engages the Elderly in Region 10

On November 20, LFU Guyana Inc., in partnership with the Ladies On A Mission (L.O.A.M) hosted the final Senior Lime event of 2025. The goal is to annually host one SENIOR LIME each quarter in response to the needs expressed by seniors in LFU’s 2024 Senior Citizens survey. Dozens of our elderly participated in the event, showcasing their talents, sharing their recipes and listening to Mackenzie Hospital’s Mental Health Officer, Dr. Kacy Datson. The birthdays of almost two dozen seniors were recognized and celebrated. Click to see a few photos of the Senior Lime and the Facebook Live. #mentalhealth #wellbeing
Celebrating senior life, Dr. Salome Henry—local advocate and dedicated supporter of the Senior Lime whose passion is to promote networking and improvement for social interaction for the elderly—recently accompanied a group of Region 10 seniors on a trip to Antigua. These annual excursions take participants to destinations across Guyana and the Caribbean. If you are interested in joining a future trip, please contact Dr. Salome. Another annual event is the Elderly Got Talent Showcase that sees seniors getting on the stage at LICHAS to share their talents in song, poetry, dance, drama, and weight lifting. It is an enjoyable event for seniors as participants and spectators.
